Loving the Children of Mexico : 2015 Grant Guidelines
The Loving the Children of Mexico (LCM) organization is pleased to announce its request for proposals from registered organizations in Mexico, which provide holistic charitable assistance to economically disadvantaged children living in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.LCM is a non-profit organization incorporated in Texas and is managed by a Board of Directors comprised of volunteers dedicated to enhancing the lives of these children. Funds secured go directly to support the children in Nuevo Laredo. LCM requests that proposals prepared for consideration will need to be submitted by close of business (CST) on June 30, 2015.
Organizations interested in requesting funds should complete the LCM Proposal Guide and include supporting documentation requested. Proposals can be submitted by email to: lovingthechildrenofmexico@gmail.com or by mail to the organization’s address, postmarked prior to the due date.
Funding can be requested to cover a six-month period and grants allocated will be in the range of $1,000 to $15,000. LCM seeks proposals from organizations able to deliver the following services:
- Conduct quality after school programs on a daily basis for children from economically disadvantaged neighborhoods from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico;
- Provide a safe after-school environment where the children can play and learn;
- Serve daily a nutritious, warm meal prepared on site;
- Offer daily Bible education classes for strengthening the children’s spiritual foundation;
- Safely transport the children from their home neighborhood to the site where programming will be conducted; and
- Provide homework assistance to ensure success in the classroom. The requirements for an organization interested in submitting a proposal are as follows:
- Organization must have at least 5 years of experience in providing programs which address the physical, spiritual and academic needs of economically disadvantaged children living in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
- Organizations will need to be officially registered with the Secretary General of the Government of the State of Tamaulipas (Secretaria General del Gobierno del Estado de Tamaulipas) and in existence for over five years.
- Organizations must be in good financial standing with the Tax Administration Service Association Civil Agency (Servicio de Administracion Tributaria Asociacion Civil) in Nuevo Laredo, and must be able to demonstrate that it has proper financial infrastructure for managing its resources.
- Organization must submit interim report midway through the grant and a final report at the completion of the grant period.
- The report must include a summary financial statement signed by the principal officer of the organization. The funds requested from LCM may be used for the following purposes:
- To support the costs of consumables purchased for providing meals and care for the children;
- To provide for the cost of purchasing school supplies and learning materials.
- To support the salaries and benefits of individuals conducting the programs and supervising the children; and
- To provide for the rental and basic maintenance of the facility and the vehicles used for transporting the children.
Loving the Children of Mexico Proposal Guide Organization Overview:
- Please provide the official name of the organization, address and contact information, and the names of the executive officers.
- Describe your organization, your mission, your history and the work that you conduct in serving the economically disadvantaged children of Nuevo Laredo.
- Please provide information and supporting documentation to demonstrate that your organization is officially registered in Mexico and allowed to provide programs for the children of Nuevo Laredo.
- Please provide documentation to demonstrate that your organization has the appropriate insurance coverage, including for transporting the children.
- Please describe the accounting practices and oversight controls in place for managing the finances of the organization. Program Description
- Describe the programs that you propose to conduct and the number of children to be involved.
- Describe a daily and weekly routines for the children involved in the proposed program.
- Describe the qualifications of the staff to be conducting the program.
- Describe the how you will measure the impact of the programs you will be conducting.
- Describe the facility that will be used for conducting the proposed programs.
- Please describe how you will be transporting the children, and include the names of the individual(s) responsible for transporting the children. Budget Request
- Outline the funding amount requested and the time duration for the grant.
- Provide a detailed budget and description for the use of the funds.
- Describe how you would like for the funding to be provided to you, whether on a monthly basis, three month period, etc. Interim Reports and Final Report
- Describe how you will be reporting your progress on the project to the LCM Board. Also outline your approach in preparing your final report.
- Also identify the person who will be preparing the final report for the organization.
